The State Newspaper Publishes Results of the 'Purges'

Mahileŭ public and political sphere lost 35 organizations and associations. Today edition of 'Mahileŭskija vedamasti' informed about this and published a list of organizational structures of political parties and public organizations that were deprived of registration by the department of justice of voblast executive committee during the first six months of 2005.

The state newspaper did not give any information on reasons why number of political structures (that prevail in the list) and public organizations of different spheres was reduced by 35 organizations. An inexperienced reader will not understand why for example such organization as voblast organization of Belarusian Association of Veterans ceased to exist or voblast department of Equestrian Federationwas deprived of registration. Or why did almost all district organizations of social democratic type decide to leave political scene simultaneously?

The newspaper as well as the department of justice did not give any explanations and comments to the published list. However it is worth mentioning that the listed organizations became victims of the act of the Ministry of Justice of the country about ban on using of private houses or flats as legal addresses of political parties. It remains only to wonder why only 35 organizations were crushed. According to some information the next list of organizations of Mahileŭ voblast that lose their legal status not of their free will is expected in the nearest future.
